Heart Drops
Ingredients:
Arsenicum album D5, Cactus D2, Crataegus Ø, Digitalis D3, Kalium carbonicum D3, Kalmia D3, Phosphorus D5, Scilla D2, Spigelia D3, Strophanthus D3
Indications:
Mild heart failure with a tendency toward oedema
Valvular heart diseases
Dilatations
Post-infectious myocardial weakness
Coronary insufficiencies
Cardiac infarction
Endocarditis
Mode of Action:
Increases muscular strength of the heart
• Arsenicum album: Heart weakness with uneasiness and anguish, mainly around midnight; orthopnea, difficult breathing, general exhaustion
• Cactus: Symptoms of angina pectoris; strong pulse, suffocation
• Crataegus: Cardiac weakness, enfeeblement during infections; painful spasms, hypotension, tendency toward decompensation; functional irregularities
• Digitalis: Heart failure with cardiac dilatation
• Kalium carbonicum: Weakness of the heart and cardiovascular system in endo-myocarditis; sharp heart pain
• Kalmia: Pain radiating down left arm; chronic heart weakness with difficult breathing; acute and chronic endocarditis
• Phosphorus: Palpitations, especially when lying on the left side; chest congestion, suffocation, anguish; nervous exhaustion and hypersensitivity
• Scilla: Cardiovascular insufficiency with arrhythmias; signs of decompensation
• Spigelia: Strong and abnormal palpitations, low pulse, myocarditis
• Strophanthus: Fast-acting heart tonic
Dosage:
According to the degree of heart weakness:
3 times daily 10–20–30 drops in water.
In the beginning, even 4–6 times daily.
In cases of strong tendency toward hydropsy, take undiluted.
If improvement is not evident after several days, increase dosage, then reduce to 20 drops 3 times daily once improvement sets in.
Even after full recovery, continue with 10–15 drops 2–3 times daily for a longer period.
In acute heart weakness: 10–20 drops every 15–30 minutes.
