Plus: Belladonna D3, Bryonia D2, Coccus cacti D5, Corallium rubrum D12, Cuprum aceticum D12, Drosera D3, Ipecacuanha D5, Spongia D5, Sticta D3, Thymus vulgaris, Liquor Ammonii anisatus, Saccharum, Ethanol, Aqua pur.
Drops (R9):
Belladonna D4, Bryonia D3, Coccus cacti D6, Corallium rubrum D12, Cuprum aceticum D12, Drosera D4, Ipecacuanha D6, Spongia D6, Sticta D4, Thymus vulgaris, Ethanol, Aqua pur.
Indications:
Catarrhal affections of the upper air passages
• Rhinolaryngopharyngitis
• Especially bronchitis and whooping cough (all stages)
• Effective expectorant in chronic bronchitis
• Bronchial asthma
• Fits of coughing in phthisis
Mode of Action:
Specific effect on mucous membranes of the upper airways.
• Soothing, secretory, and antiseptic action due to phenol and turpentine components
• Sedative effect from Flores Rhoeados
• Stimulates immune defense of upper airway mucosa
Individual Ingredients:
• Belladonna: Convulsive, dry, hollow, barking cough; dry mucosa
• Bryonia: Harsh, dry cough; chest pain
• Coccus cacti: Hypersensitive pharyngeal mucosa; spasmodic cough with sticky, glairy expectoration
• Corallium rubrum: Violent, choking cough attacks
• Cuprum aceticum: Spasmodic cough; thick mucus; dyspnoea
• Drosera: Convulsive cough, cyanosis, suffocation, spasmodic asthma
• Ipecacuanha: Dry, asphyxiant cough with glottic spasm; nausea
• Spongia: Hollow, night-time cough
• Sticta: Nasopharyngeal cold descending to bronchitis; nasal root pressure
• Thymus vulgaris: Expectorant
Dosage:
• Whooping cough: 10 drops in water or 1 teaspoon syrup every ½–1 hour initially. Alternate syrup and drops hourly. After 2–3 days, reduce to every 2 hours.
• Non-specific catarrhs following whooping cough: 10–15 drops or 1 teaspoon syrup, 4–6 times daily
• Acute bronchitis / laryngopharyngitis: 10–15 drops or 1 teaspoon syrup every 2–3 hours
Safe for all ages, including babies (preferably on non-liquid diet)
Remarks:
• In influenza: also use R6
