MAIN INDICATIONS
MD-HIP is designed to improve hip motion, helping to contain physiological joint and tissue deterioration.
Scientific evidence shows the efficacy and safety of MD-HIP in cases of:
• Coxarthrosis
• Coxalgia:
− of muscular and/or nerve origin
− due to prolonged bed rest
− due to aging
− due to bad posture
− due to concomitant chronic diseases
− due to traumas and injuries.
Treatment can be combined with other therapies.
THERAPEUTIC PROTOCOL:
1-2 infiltrations per week to contain physiological or pathological deterioration of the hip.
Results are evident from the third week but, depending on the patient's clinical situation, it is possible to continue treatment up to the tenth week without risk.
COMPOSITION
Collagen of porcine origin, Calcium Phosphate, NaCl, Water for injection.
PACKAGE
Box of 10 vials (single vial 2 ml – extraction volume).
INJECTION ROUTES OF ADMINISTRATION
Periarticular and intraarticular.
SUGGESTED NEEDLES
• Periarticular: 26G x 30 mm needle.
• Intraarticular: 20G x 90 mm needle.
Note: Disinfect the skin thoroughly with iodopovidone or chlorhexidine.
INJECTION TECHNIQUES OF ADMINISTRATION
• Periarticular administration: insert the needle near the joint to a depth of 13-25 mm.
• Intraarticular administration: insert the needle into the anterior recess of the capsule at the level of the femoral head through an antero-superior or antero-inferior approach. When the 40-60 mm needle is in contact with the femoral head, retract 1-2 mm and inject into the hip joint cavity.
