MD-SHOULDER is a medical device designed to improve shoulder and upper limb movement and to reduce associated pain, counteracting physiological or pathological deterioration of the joint of the shoulder, elbow, and surrounding tissues (joint capsule and bursae).

Scientific evidence shows the efficacy and safety of MD-SHOULDER in cases of:

• Glenohumeral arthrosis
• Acromioclavicular arthrosis
• Sternoclavicular arthrosis
• Calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus
• Acute scapulohumeral periarthritis and subdeltoid bursitis
• Injuries with partial thickening of the rotator cuff
• Painful shoulder in patients with post-stroke hemiplegia
• Subacromial impingement (shoulder conflict syndrome)
• Rotator cuff syndrome
• Scapulohumeral dislocation
• Epicondylitis refractory to other treatments
• Contractures
• Arthritic conditions:
  • due to aging
  • due to bad posture
  • due to concomitant chronic diseases
  • due to traumas and injuries

The treatment has proved to be effective also in patients non-responsive to other therapies. It can be combined with other treatments.

1-2 infiltrations per week to contain physiological or pathological deterioration of the shoulder joint, elbow, and surrounding tissues. Results are evident from the third week but, depending on the patient's clinical situation, it is possible to continue treatment up to the tenth week without risk.

Collagen of porcine origin, Iris, NaCl, Water for injection.

Box of 10 vials (single vial 2 ml – extraction volume).

Periarticular and intraarticular.

• Periarticular: 26G x 25 mm needle.
• Intraarticular: 22G x 32 mm needle.

Note: Disinfect the skin thoroughly with iodopovidone or chlorhexidine.

• Periarticular administration: insert the needle near the joint to a depth of minimum 13–25 mm.
• Intraarticular administration: insert the needle below the inferior margin of the posterior angle of the acromion, towards the coracoid process.
